Many of you who have worked at Maryland Heights within the past 9 years may remember “Uncle Jim”. He came in every Friday night for dinner with Stan and Darlene Roberts and sat at table 1. He would always bring homemade cookies in large plastic tubs for the girls and often took requests for the next week’s treat.
He died on Saturday morning of cancer. Several weeks ago, we took the hooters truck, balloons, flowers, and girls to visit him at home because he could no longer come to us.
I just left his wake in Florissant and the parlor was adorned with pictures, t-shirts we had all signed, and his “my other girlfriend is a hooters girl” bumper sticker.
His family told me that our visit was a topic of his conversation daily in his final weeks and that those pictures were a treasure for him.
It’s the little things we do that impact the lives of our guests. Uncle Jim’s family was most grateful for the memories and joy that we were a part of. This is why we do what we do.
RIP Uncle Jim

You’re absolutely right. I’ve always said that the little things we do for other people, especially the ones like your ”Uncle Jim”, will be remembered the longest. This is a great example of that. This is what I like about Hooters girls, they care about their customers. It’s not what you see on the outside that makes the person, but what comes from the inside. God Bless Y’all!
